What to Expect
Hardrock offers a comprehensive course on all aspects of indoor lead climbing over two sessions. Climbers will learn all they need to know for safe and enjoyable lead climbing and belaying from an experienced instructor.
The course is run over two mornings on a weekend. The course includes; instruction and entry, all ropes and belay devices and an experienced instructor.
Since our easiest lead climbs are usually grade 15 -16 we recommend participants are comfortable top-roping at this level.
On completion of the course, participants will need to book in to complete their 'Lead Climbing Assessment', which allows lead climbing & belaying at Hardrock. Lead Assessments are free (you just need to pay for your general admission climbing entry), run frequently and can be booked online here.
Equipment & Pricing
All participants must have their own lead harness (see details below).
Participants also receive a 15% discount on the purchase of any climbing equipment (in the lead-up to, and following the course). This is a great opportunity to get equipped with a harnesses, rope and belay device (conditions apply).
The Lead Course is $140.00 per person and is suitable for those aged 18 and over. For those aged 16-17 looking to participate in the course, please contact our administration team at info@hardrock.com.au.
